Office Visits
Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high-quality dental care. We understand that you, or your child, may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.
Your first visit is all about you – your health, your comfort and dental education.
The first visit is with the dentist. At that visit we review your dental and medical history forms. We will also take the necessary radiographs (x-rays) that we’ve agreed on together. We will do an oral cancer screening (at this initial exam and every hygiene recall visit thereafter). We also will do a full mouth periodontal evaluation (looking for any signs of periodontal disease) and then we look for cavities (using our Spectra camera if indicated), and any other dental issues. Additionally we can use our intra-oral camera to take photos or take impressions for study models if needed. We will develop a treatment plan and prioritize the order in which treatment should be done. You will get a written treatment plan, with fees and approximate insurance coverage (if applicable).
The second visit will be with our hygienist, who will tailor your cleaning to precisely what your periodontal condition warrants. Or, the second visit could be with the dentist if you have an immediate dental issue that needs addressing.
Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these with you to your first appointment:
- Your completed patient information form
- Your insurance card
- Your Photo ID
Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!
The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
And our office prides itself on running on time. We will let you know how long each appointment is scheduled to be so that you can plan your visit accordingly. We look forward to meeting you!
